“Only through our connectedness to others can we really know and enhance the self.  And only through working on the self can we begin to enhance our connectedness to others.”

– Harriet Goldhor Lerner

Connection

Our connection to ourselves, other human beings and nature is so absolutely vital to our existence.  Not just for optimal existence, but for our existence period.  Isolation would mean going against our own nature.  These relationships play a role in our brain development, our sense of self, our ability to empathize and feel and the core of our humanity.  This is where you learn to play, trust, be opposed, voice your truth, soften, love and so so much more.
So, let’s give ourselves the gift of time.  Time spent in nature where we can attune our senses with what is living around us and cohabiting with us.  Time spent to nurture meaningful relationships where we can safely give and receive.  Time spent with ourselves to remember who we are and reflect on who we want to be.  As Mary Oliver beautifully states “I don’t want to end up simply having visited this world”.  So, let’s live fully and deliberately.
